From the East

The plan for this is to remove the old attached shed. It's in bad condition. I would like to have it down this year.

Southwest Corner

This is a view of the southwest corner of the barn. I need to trim and paint the trellis. I'll hopefully get to that this spring.

View From the North

This is the north side of the barn.

Fireplace

A summer veiw of my favorite room and one of our dogs. Spot, the border collie.

Stone Foundation

This is the old stone foundation which stands about 6 foot tall.

Western View

The old hay door and track on peak. That is our bedroom window now and the lower window is to our daughter's bedroom.

Our Stained Glass

We had this stained glass comissioned and made for us when we finished our extension. It was placed here where an old window original to the outside of the house used to be. It is of Dakota, my first horse.

My Favorite Room

Decorated for Christmas. This is looking down from the staircase that leads from the loft. I love this room. It's so open and big. I call it the formal living space, although there is nothing formal about this house whatsoever. Everyone who comes to this home to visit are welcome and feel like they're at home. I'm told that all the time. I suppose that because it is a small farm and there are animals and children it's pretty "lax" around here. Nobody gets bent over spilt milk.

Our Converted Barn

We live in a converted barn. Old post and beam construction over 100 years old. We'll try and put some more photos up soon. And many other converted barns from our area. This barn is over a hundred years old. The posts and beams are held together with large wooden pegs not nails.
